We have a growing, non-profit organization located in Glen Ellyn, IL is looking for an HR Generalist to join their growing team. The ideal candidate has strong employee relations experience and has fluency with the onboarding process for new hires including I-9 forms, employee data changes, and timely communication with all parties. This role is a temporary role with the potential to turn into a permanent role. This role has the opportunity for a hybrid schedule after training.

Responsibilities

· Coordinate the onboarding process from offer acceptance to the first day and beyond, ensuring timely communication with candidates, contractors, and hiring managers.

· Complete I-9 forms, verify I-9 documentation, and maintain I-9 files. Coordinate and execute on/off-boarding activities.

· Manage employee data changes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

· Manage employee relations, including providing guidance on policies, procedures, and other situations that come up.

· Respond to inquiries from employees related to benefits, timesheets, employment policies, and payroll.

· Assist with HR-related events, programs, and initiatives. Provide administrative support to the HR team in various areas, including benefits administration, employee relations, recruiting, and training programs.

· Perform other duties, assignments, and special projects as assigned related to the smooth and effective operations of HR.

Qualifications

· 2 years' experience working in HR, ideally a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources preferred. SHRM certification preferred.

· Proficient in analyzing and interpreting background checks and completing I-9s and eVerify.

· Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

· Detailed oriented and easily adaptable. Able to learn quickly.

· Ability to assess situations and uphold organizational policies and procedures.

· Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a team environment.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
