The Test Systems Engineering (TSE) team consists of a unique blend of Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers supported by a highly versatile Technician Team. Our team's primary focus is to provide scalable internal test solutions. We highly value the creativity and professional expertise that each member brings with them as we continue to accelerate product development. The ideal candidate has a background in motor or powertrain dynamometers, high-power bidirectional AC and DC sources, grid simulators, data acquisition, and advanced software control systems.
As an Engineering Test Technician on this team, you will be asked to perform a variety of assembly, diagnostic, quality control, maintenance and troubleshooting tasks to ensure the product meets specifications & is ready for use before hand-off and/or shipment.
What You'll Do
- Assist with maintenance on test equipment with the goal of reducing equipment downtime
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines
- Maintain and organize work environment in collaboration with peers, as well as understand and follow safety and environmental regulations
- Assist in the development, validation, and integration of hardware and software test solutions for internal R&D projects
- Investigate and document equipment failures under the guidance of engineers and help drive test system improvements
- Participate in troubleshooting efforts with design teams (ME/EE/SW) to identify and resolve technical issues
- Execute validation tests and assist in system integration of new upgrades and solutions
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to build prototypes, install new systems, and execute tests
- Assist in commissioning and debugging new test equipment
- Create and maintain documentation for test equipment certification, operation, and maintenance
- Collect and analyze test data, generate reports, and communicate results to engineering teams
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years demonstrated hands-on work experience in a related field/environment
- Experience with Hand tools (Dynamometer and/or multimeters)
- Ability to lift 45 lbs.
- Ability to use diagnostic tooling
- Experience with workplace LOTO and safety procedures
- Experience working in a fast-paced workplace with excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills
- Strong experience troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical equipment
- Willing to travel domestic and international when necessary
- Ability to handle and dispose of hazardous materials
- Experience utilizing Jira, SharePoint, and Confluence is a plus
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, lab equipment, and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, UART, SPI, I2C, etc.) is a plus
