Cash Applications Specialist - Bethesda, MD

Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a local client in Bethesda, MD in search of a Cash Applications Specialist to join their team. This role will focus on correctly posting incoming payments to customer accounts, investigating and resolving issues like unapplied cash, short payments, and discrepancies. It will also include tracking and reconciling daily cash receipts. This position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring several days a week in the office. Key Responsibilities

• Accurately apply incoming payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers) to customer accounts in the ERP or accounting system
• Research and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, and payment discrepancies in coordination with internal teams
• Monitor and reconcile daily cash receipts to ensure proper allocation and posting to the general ledger
• Communicate with customers, banks, and internal departments to clarify remittance information and resolve issues
• Maintain detailed and organized records of all cash transactions for audit, reporting, and compliance purposes
• Assist with month-end close activities by providing accurate cash application data and supporting reports
