Position Summary:
The Payroll Specialist will manage end-to-end payroll processing for the organization using ADP Workforce Now (WFN). This role ensures timely and accurate payroll, compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and proper record-keeping. The ideal candidate has nonprofit payroll experience, is highly detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process biweekly payroll accurately and on time using ADP Workforce Now (WFN).

  • Maintain employee payroll records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.

  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, wage reports, and related compliance documentation.

  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with HR and finance.

  • Administer employee benefits deductions, leave balances, and other payroll-related adjustments.

  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees in a professional and timely manner.

  • Assist with year-end processes including W-2 preparation and reporting.

  • Support internal audits and provide payroll documentation as needed.

  • Continuously review payroll processes for efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.

  • Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) required.

  • Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

  • Proficiency in Excel and other payroll-related software.

Contract Details:

  • Duration: 6+ months, potential extension.

  • Location: Onsite in Santa Barbara, CA.
