A mission-driven nonprofit organization in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking a Nonprofit Grant Accountant on a temp-to-hire basis. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and nonprofit financial reporting. The ideal candidate has hands-on Blackbaud experience and a strong understanding of nonprofit and fund accounting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger and support monthly close

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments

• Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations

• Manage fund accounting, including restricted and unrestricted funds

• Assist with grant accounting and tracking expenditures

• Prepare financial statements and internal reports

• Handle AP/AR, including vendor payments and donor receivables

• Support annual audit and work with external auditors

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards

• Collaborate with internal teams on budgeting and financial tracking

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 3+ years of nonprofit accounting experience

• Strong Blackbaud experience (Financial Edge or Financial Edge NXT)

• Solid understanding of fund and grant accounting

• Experience with month-end close and reconciliations

• Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)

• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines
