A manufacturing company in Schaumburg is seeking a Part Time HR Generalist.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports the Human Resources Department in all daily duties to include compensation, benefits, employee relations, contractor agreements, personnel file maintenance, staffing, employee onboarding, orientation and exits.
- Coordinates all activities for new employee on-boarding including first day orientation, employee payroll and benefit portal training, as well as job specific on-boarding training and activities.
- Coordinates employee off-boarding including exit interviews and exit process.
- Creates and maintains employee files and updates information in appropriate databases.
Maintains the ADP payroll system (ADP Workforce Now)for employees, or other system if implemented. Prepares payroll, resolves problems, processes employee rate changes based on proper approvals and makes adjustments where necessary on a timely and accurate basis.
Administers benefits programs such as health, dental, life and disability insurance, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance through PEO
Provides 401(k) information to trustee and plan consultants, as required. Provides data for audits and required compliance testing. Maintains all 401(k) enrollments, changes, loans, distributions and hardship withdrawals
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 3-5 years of human resource generalist management experience
- 2 years processing payroll
- 2 years working knowledge of 401k plans and administration
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
