Overview:
This role involves overseeing the maintenance of company financial records, managing accounts payable, preparing financial statements, and supporting the financial close process. You will lead teams, develop accounting policies, and work with auditors and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger & Financial Statements:
- Oversee the maintenance of the company's general ledgers.
- Prepare departmental, divisional, and consolidated operating and financial statements.
- Accounts Payable & Banking:
- Maintain the accounts payable ledger.
- Oversee banking and cashiering activities as needed.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Compile consolidated financial statements and related disclosures.
- Ensure policies and procedures align with the organization's accounting standards.
- Auditor Interaction:
- Coordinate with outside auditors and provide necessary records for audits.
- Employee Management:
- Set, review, and provide feedback on annual performance goals for accounting staff.
- Collaborative Financial Close:
- Work with corporate and business unit accounting teams to support the financial close process.
- Project Management:
- Monitor the status of special accounting projects and set priorities as needed.
- Technical Accounting Research:
- Research and apply technical accounting guidance relevant to the company's needs.
- Chart of Accounts:
- Maintain the chart of accounts for both USGAAP and Japanese GAAP in Oracle.
- Finance Systems Leadership:
- Lead the Finance Business Systems Analysts in managing ERP systems (Oracle, Hyperion, SAP).
- Ensure software upgrades and modifications are successfully tested before being implemented in the live environment.
