Our client is looking to add a Direct Mail Graphic Designer to their team! This is a 6+ month contract role with the potential to extend and would be hybrid, 3 days onsite at their office in Providence, RI.
Direct Mail Graphic Designer Qualifications:
Design & Creative Strategy
- Ability to design compliant, engaging direct mail pieces that resonate with insurance prospects (e.g. auto, home and life insurance) and align with brand guidelines
- Familiar with the multiple components that make up a full kit (OE, letter, BRE, inserts)
- Experience crafting data-driven, customer-centric designs that drive response rates.
- Understanding of testing and how to use design variations to improve campaign performance.
- Ability to translate complex insurance offerings into clear, compelling visual communications.
Insurance Marketing & Compliance
- Knowledge of compliance requirements for insurance direct mail (e.g., Marketing guidelines, disclaimers, regulatory approvals).
- Experience creating designs for various insurance products (e.g. auto, home and life insurance).
- Ability to align creative with brand guidelines while adhering to legal and industry standards.
Software & Technical Proficiency
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Experience with marketing automation & CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) for direct mail integration.
- Knowledge of direct response metrics and how design choices affect conversion rates (e.g., CTA placement, QR codes, personalized URLs).
Print & Postal Knowledge
- Experience preparing print-ready files following postal regulations
- Understanding of variable data printing (VDP) for personalized direct mail campaigns (e.g., policyholder name, state specific details).
- Familiarity with print production processes, including paper stock, coatings, and finishing techniques
Collaboration & Project Management
- Ability to work with writers, marketing teams, project coordinators and compliance to ensure messages are clear, compelling, and compliant.
- Experience in multichannel marketing (integrating direct mail with digital campaigns, email follow-ups, or call center scripts).
- Strong project management skills to handle multiple campaigns, tight deadlines, and revisions.
Experience & Education
- Solid experience in direct mail design, preferably in insurance or financial services.
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Portfolio showcasing successful direct mail campaigns in the insurance or financial space.
