Beacon Hill Legal is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal for a full-service law firm in Houston. The firm specializes in trial, arbitration, and litigation with a focus on complex, high-risk disputes across various industries. As the Litigation Paralegal you would be responsible for full litigation support to attorneys. This opportunity is full-time, direct hire, and hybrid (one day/week after 90 days).
Responsibilities:
- Summarize legal documents
- Conduct legal research
- Draft initial pleadings, discovery documents, motions, briefs, and other legal correspondence related to litigation
- Verify the accuracy of legal forms
- Organize case research, notes, and legal documents
- Gather and analyze research data
- Perform related tasks as required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective communication and writing skills
- Enthusiastic team player attitude with a high work ethic
- Proficiency in legal research
- Professional interaction with clients and attorneys
- Ability to prioritize and work under tight schedules
- In-depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles
- Ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy
- Preferred knowledge of e-discovery tools
- Required trial preparation and/or trial experience
Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certificate
- Minimum of five years of paralegal experience in insurance defense litigation
