We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to join our team to support a large-scale legacy application modernization initiative. Our goal is to migrate custom applications and databases built in FoxPro and Visual Basic 6 (VB6) to a modern Oracle-based infrastructure.

You'll play a critical role in rewriting database logic and application code to prepare for handoff to the team for deployment. Your primary focus will be translating and converting the existing FoxPro/DBF and VB6 logic to interface with Oracle. Application logic updates will follow in a later phase.

Why This Role Matters:

  • Our legacy systems are deeply customized and integrated into manufacturing operations.
  • FoxPro expertise is becoming rare - we need a specialist who understands both the data layer and the application layer.
  • With 200+ tables to migrate (each taking 3-6 days), this role is essential in accelerating our transition timeline.

What You'll Do:

  • Analyze, modify, and document legacy code in FoxPro 7 and VB6
  • Convert database access logic to Oracle 10+
  • Collaborate with in-house development team and deployment team
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with high availability needs (24/7)
  • Support code handoff and testing processes
  • Help plan for future upgrades to .NET (v4+, .NET Core 6+)

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 7+ years of software development experience in legacy and modern environments
  • Strong skills in FoxPro (application and DBF data layer) and VB6
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle databases
  • Previous work with custom, process-tracking, or transactional systems
  • Experience in manufacturing or 24/7 critical systems is highly desired
  • Comfortable making changes to production systems while minimizing downtime
  • Knowledge of ERP integrations (SAP experience is a bonus)

Bonus Skills:

  • C# and .NET (v4+ and .NET Core 6+)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, NC SQL databases

What You'll Get:

  • The opportunity to work on a high-impact project modernizing mission-critical systems
  • A chance to work with a technically sound and collaborative team
  • A role with extension potential
