Network Engineer

Mode: Contract-to-Hire

Key Responsibilities

• Network Implementation & Configuration
• Deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure in a highly available environment.
• Ensure smooth operation and optimal performance of LAN/WAN systems.
• Manage routing, switching, and security configurations on Cisco and Dell networking hardware.
• Troubleshooting & Support
• Investigate and resolve network-related issues across physical and virtual environments.
• Serve as a key resource for identifying root causes and delivering permanent fixes.
• Log and document technical procedures and resolutions to support future troubleshooting efforts.
• Security & Monitoring
• Work with Fortinet firewalls to manage security policies and protect infrastructure.
• Monitor network performance and proactively identify bottlenecks or vulnerabilities.
• Implement tools and practices to ensure compliance and operational security.
• Technical Projects & Optimization
• Collaborate with other IT teams to plan and execute new network initiatives and upgrades.
• Participate in the evaluation and deployment of SD-WAN solutions.
• Recommend improvements to network design, redundancy, and fault tolerance.

Required Skills & Capabilities

• Networking Expertise
• Deep knowledge of enterprise networking concepts including routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and QoS.
• Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet, Cisco, and Dell networking solutions.
• Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies and how they integrate into hybrid network environments.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and network monitoring platforms (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG).
• Analytical & Problem Solving
• Strong troubleshooting abilities with a systematic approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Comfortable working independently in high-pressure scenarios and taking ownership of critical incidents.
• Ability to assess network performance and implement improvements to support long-term growth.
• Professional Qualities
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Detail-focused and disciplined in maintaining infrastructure standards and protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry certifications such as Fortinet NSE, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent.
• Experience working in electronics, manufacturing, or similarly structured environments.
• Exposure to hybrid or transitional cloud networking models is a plus, though not required.
