Job Title: General Manager
Location: Alexandria, MN
Work Schedule: 40-47 hours/week, based on business needs
Sign-On Bonus: $1,000 (paid after 90 days of employment)
Relocation Assistance: Available
Position Overview
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial performance and daily operations of the store. This role emphasizes team leadership, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Success in this position requires the ability to build a strong team culture, maximize sales opportunities, and consistently deliver a high-quality guest experience.
The ideal candidate is an inspiring leader who fosters accountability, encourages development, and takes ownership of business results.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
Ensure the store is appropriately staffed and schedules are current, efficient, and effective.
Lead hiring, bench planning, and team development to build a high-performing workforce.
Facilitate all role-based and onboarding training to ensure team readiness.
Provide regular coaching, feedback, and recognition to enhance performance and engagement.
Uphold company policies, safety standards, and a positive team environment.
Use internal tools and systems effectively and on time.
Guest Experience & Quality
Lead by example to inspire outstanding guest service and a positive store atmosphere.
Drive strategies to improve guest satisfaction, speed of service, and loyalty.
Address and resolve employee and customer concerns promptly and professionally.
Business Operations
Take full ownership of store performance, driving profitability and operational excellence.
Ensure effective scheduling around key operational windows (inventory, holidays, promotions).
Oversee supply chain, inventory, and asset management to maintain smooth operations.
Analyze financial statements and operating data to guide business decisions.
Maintain ethical and responsible budgetary and cash flow management.
Monitor and control waste to improve efficiency and reduce loss.
Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and health compliance standards.
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
1-2 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or guest service settings (or equivalent education/experience).
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Reliable transportation.
Preferred:
ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
Experience with P&L management, recruiting, and team training.
Familiarity with store systems and platforms such as point-of-sale, scheduling, and performance tracking tools.
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements
Ability to bend, reach, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for extended periods (4-8 hours).
