Job Title: Bilingual (Spanish) HR Assistant

Job Summary:

Beacon Hill's client in Hull, IA is seeking a Bilingual (Spanish) HR Assistant to provide administrative support to the HR team. This role plays a vital part in supporting day-to-day HR operations, assisting with recruitment, onboarding, compliance tracking, employee file maintenance, and delivering excellent service to a diverse workforce. The ideal candidate is fluent in both English and Spanish and comfortable supporting Spanish-speaking employees with translation and communication needs.


Key Responsibilities:

Employee Support & Communication

  • Respond to employee questions and concerns; escalate as needed to HR leadership.

  • Provide in-person and written Spanish translation for HR-related matters, training, and communication.

  • Serve as a backup for the front desk receptionist and participate in employee recognition activities.

Recruiting & Onboarding Support

  • Schedule candidate interviews and coordinate employment screenings including drug testing, background checks, and fit testing.

  • Assist in onboarding activities, including orientation scheduling and I-9 verification in Workday.

  • Set up employee access (key fobs, break codes) and guide new hires through onboarding systems.

Records & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate employee personnel and medical files.

  • Track employee attendance using internal software; generate and distribute reports.

  • Support performance review tracking and follow-up.

  • Ensure timely updates in the HRIS system and maintain confidentiality of all employee data.

  • Assist in distributing benefit information and compliance notices (FMLA, COBRA, insurance, etc.).

Administrative Support

  • Print and prepare materials for hiring, training, and team meetings.

  • Post and distribute HR-related communications throughout the facility.

  • Support special projects and general HR documentation as needed.

  • Help coordinate health screenings, engagement surveys, and open enrollment.

Compliance & Safety

  • Participate in monthly safety meetings and report any food safety or compliance concerns.

  • Understand and adhere to safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Support a safe and inclusive work environment for all employees.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; HR coursework or certification preferred.

  • 1-2 years of HR or administrative experience in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken and written) is required.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred).

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
