Job Title: Registry Recruitment Specialist
Location: Kansas City, MO (Hybrid with travel across Missouri and Kansas)
Schedule: Full-time, including some evenings/weekends, occasional national travel (3-4 trips per year)
Assignment Type: 6-month, temp-to-hire
Hourly Pay: $25-$30/hr

Position Summary

Beacon Hill's client in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Registry Recruitment Specialist to lead and manage community engagement and donor recruitment programs for the Donor Registry. This role educates, engages, and inspires the public to support the mission, focusing on expanding the national registry through outreach to colleges, community organizations, corporations, and service sectors.

The Registry Recruitment Specialist will be a public-facing representative, responsible for presentations, awareness events, and volunteer recruitment while ensuring excellent customer service. The role requires independence, strong organizational skills, and the ability to travel across Missouri, Kansas, and surrounding areas. The specialist will also collaborate with account managers in the region for guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities

Community & Event Leadership

• Plan, organize, and execute mission-focused events (in-person and virtual) to drive donor recruitment and volunteer engagement.

• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, media, and local contacts.

• Serve as a liaison between the organization and the community, responding promptly to leads and inquiries.

• Deliver presentations and educational outreach to increase awareness and participation in the donor registry.

• Educate potential donors about the donation process and registry expectations to ensure informed participation.

• Develop an annual activity plan, including campus rotations and community events, to meet recruitment goals.

Partnership & Collaboration

• Work closely with account managers and marketing teams to develop and implement engagement strategies.

• Partner with transplant centers to identify patients and families interested in supporting the mission.

• Support patients and families by connecting them to appropriate registry services.

• Share impactful patient and donor stories with marketing for media outreach and communications.

Volunteer Management

• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for short-term and long-term initiatives.

• Track volunteer activity and hours, and support volunteer recognition programs.

• Ensure volunteers are properly trained and supported throughout their engagement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in community development, event planning, sales, or account management.

• 2+ years of experience in sales, community or business development, client account management, or event planning with measurable outcomes.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, public speaking, and presentation abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and web research.

• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.

• Ability to travel within Missouri, Kansas, and surrounding areas (25-50%) and work occasional evenings/weekends.

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

• Knowledge of sales, marketing, and volunteer management, including effective use of social media and digital marketing for recruitment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Personal connection to the mission or prior donor experience.

• Familiarity with college/university systems, affinity groups, student organizations, or athletics.

Physical & Other Requirements

• Ability to travel independently across the state and neighboring regions.

• Comfort engaging with community members in person, including standing or walking during events.
