Position Overview
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across multiple entities. This position requires strong general ledger expertise, analytical problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to enhance financial processes and reporting.
The ideal candidate brings both technical depth and professional curiosity - someone who can maintain rigor in the numbers while also questioning how processes can be improved. This is a hybrid position, 3 days onsite.
Key Responsibilities
Record monthly cash activity, including bank account reconciliations.
Prepare journal entries for equity method investments, IBNR allocations, intercompany transactions, direct chargebacks, leased employee entries, and payroll-related items.
Manage debt-related entries including intercompany debt agreements, interest receivable/payable, capitalized issuance costs, and monthly rollforwards.
Partner with Supply Chain Management to ensure the accuracy of inventory balances; utilize Coupa to ensure proper general ledger reflection at month-end.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis.
Assist in preparing schedules and support for the annual audit.
Support the development of procedure documents and contract summaries outlining accounting treatment.
Contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives.
Maintain confidentiality of all financial information and data.
Collaborate with team members to streamline workflows and optimize system utilization
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
CPA strongly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Public accounting background preferred.
Healthcare or private equity-backed company experience preferred
