The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the President's Executive Team and serves as the college's senior financial leader. This role is responsible for the overall financial health of the institution, providing strategic direction for budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and business operations while ensuring that all financial resources align with and support the College's mission and strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis, ensuring the short- and long-term fiscal health of the College.

• Develop, manage, and monitor the annual budget, integrating strategic, academic, and business planning processes.

• Ensure compliance with financial, legal, regulatory, contractual, and accounting standards and practices.

• Oversee cash flow, investments, debt issuance, and long-term financial planning, including revenue projections and fund balance strategies.

• Provide clear financial reports, program cost analyses, and data-driven recommendations to the President and Board of Trustees.

• Administer business services such as purchasing, property and liability insurance, records retention, and office services.

• Coordinate RFPs, contracts, and agreements for financial services, insurance, and external audits, and support the College Foundation in financial planning and investment management.

• Promote operational efficiency and continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Financial Services team (Controller, Accounting Specialists, Cashiers, and Business Office staff), fostering a strong customer service culture.

• Represent the College to external financial stakeholders, including rating agencies, auditors, and advisors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.

• 3-5+ years of senior-level financial or business management experience, preferably in higher education.

• Demonstrated experience in strategic and operational planning, financial analysis, and managing multi-million-dollar budgets.

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, administrators, and governing boards.

• Knowledge of Ohio higher education financial regulations and agencies (Ohio Board of Regents, Ohio Attorney General, Ohio State Auditor) preferred.

• CPA designation preferred; must be bondable.
