Job Title: Contract Senior Employee Relations Specialist
Location: Minnetonka, MN
Hours: 40 hours per week
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (onsite as needed)
Position Overview:
Beacon Hill's client in Minnetonka, MN is looking for an Employee Relations Specialist to join their team for 7-month coverage with opportunity for extension. They will be responsible for providing comprehensive guidance and support to employees and leaders on performance, conduct, complaints, and other employee relations concerns. This role will ensure the organization's HR practices align with the most current laws and regulations, including federal and state employment compliance. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in Employee Relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to employees and leaders on performance issues, conduct concerns, and complaints.
- Stay updated on applicable employment laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure compliance.
- Recommend changes to HR policies and practices to reduce risks and ensure legal compliance.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners (HRBPs), Total Rewards, and Recruiting teams to ensure communication updates on policies, processes, and training are effectively shared with employees and managers.
- Offer support to the HR team by providing guidance, assistance, and reporting on a variety of HR compliance topics.
- Be proficient in company-wide policies and procedures and propose revisions or improvements to meet legal and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee compliance tasks such as EEO filings, state compliance reports, affirmative action, wage audits, and I-9 audits.
- Ensure that all HR functions adhere to federal, state, and local laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, paid sick leave, paid family leave, and wage/hour compliance.
- Monitor HR operations and provide feedback on compliance with established policies and current laws.
Minimum Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5 years of experience in Employee Relations or a similar role.
- Ability to learn and work in HR systems.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in mid to large-sized organizations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal employment laws such as FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and state/local laws.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
