An established Accounting firm is seeking a Sr. Bookkeeper to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys managing multiple client accounts, understands financial statements beyond data entry, and is looking to grow within a professional firm environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients, with the opportunity to manage 15-20 sets of books over time
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss statements
• Explain financial results clearly, identifying trends, variances, and areas of concern
• Perform month-end close activities and general ledger maintenance
• Work closely with internal team members and clients to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Assist with payroll processing, 1099 preparation, and sales tax filings (experience is a plus)
• Ensure compliance with firm standards, best practices, and accounting procedures

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably within:
• Accounting firms
• CPA firms
• Business Management firms
• Strong QuickBooks experience (required)
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting fundamentals
• Ability to confidently explain Balance Sheets and P&L statements
• Comfortable managing multiple clients and priorities
• Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn
