An established Accounting firm is seeking a Sr. Bookkeeper to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys managing multiple client accounts, understands financial statements beyond data entry, and is looking to grow within a professional firm environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients, with the opportunity to manage 15-20 sets of books over time
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including Balance Sheets and Profit & Loss statements
- Explain financial results clearly, identifying trends, variances, and areas of concern
- Perform month-end close activities and general ledger maintenance
- Work closely with internal team members and clients to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Assist with payroll processing, 1099 preparation, and sales tax filings (experience is a plus)
- Ensure compliance with firm standards, best practices, and accounting procedures
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably within:
- Accounting firms
- CPA firms
- Business Management firms
- Strong QuickBooks experience (required)
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting fundamentals
- Ability to confidently explain Balance Sheets and P&L statements
- Comfortable managing multiple clients and priorities
- Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn
