Our client is looking for a Data Analyst for a 2 year long contract. Candidates must be able to come onsite as needed and need to be close to the Indianapolis area.

This role sits within the Product Data Strategy & Analytics function and will serve as a critical extension of a high-impact BI and reporting capability. Due to rapidly growing business needs and a backlog of high-priority data requests - many driven by legal and compliance - this Data Analyst/ Power BI Developer will play a significant role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Spend approximately 70% of your time in hands-on Power BI development, building clean, insightful dashboards and robust data models that empower teams across compliance, manufacturing, product, and program management.
  • Own the end-to-end development lifecycle for BI assets: gathering requirements, shaping conceptual models, designing dashboards, building DAX, performing data transformations, and validating outputs.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders to:
    • Understand business needs
    • Define measurable requirements
    • Translate ambiguous requests into actionable analytics
    • Deliver solutions that directly support risk mitigation, safety, product strategy, and compliance adherence
  • Work with data sourced primarily through Databricks (pulled from SAP) and contribute to ongoing data governance efforts.
  • Support key compliance initiatives.
  • Operate with significant autonomy while collaborating with the team lead to prioritize requests and improve BI maturity across the organization.

Required Skills:

  • 2+ years of hands-on Power BI development.
  • Expertise in DAX and Power Query, including building complex measures, calculated columns, advanced transformations, and performance optimization.
  • Strong ability to work with large, complex datasets across multiple business units (legal, product, manufacturing).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, joins, relationship management, and best practices for scalable BI solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering and translating business requirements into clear technical specifications and measurable outputs.
