Litigation Paralegal (Subpoenas, Discovery & Legal Operations Focus)

Location: [Dallas, TX / Hybrid / Remote as applicable]
Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Litigation Paralegal to support a dynamic legal team across all phases of litigation-from initial intake through resolution. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with deep experience managing subpoenas, legal holds, and discovery workflows, coupled with a strong interest in process improvement and legal technology.

Key Responsibilities

Litigation & Case Management

  • Support attorneys across the full litigation lifecycle, including intake, early case assessment, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
  • Manage case files, deadlines, and docketing to ensure accurate and timely execution of all litigation milestones
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, and vendors to drive cases forward efficiently

Subpoenas & Legal Holds

  • Draft, issue, track, and respond to subpoenas (including third-party record requests and government inquiries)
  • Develop and manage legal hold processes, including custodian identification and coordination with IT for data preservation
  • Serve as a key point of contact for records collection and compliance efforts

Discovery & eDiscovery

  • Coordinate all aspects of discovery, including document collection, review, and production
  • Draft and manage discovery requests and responses, including interrogatories, RFPs, and privilege logs
  • Utilize eDiscovery platforms to organize, review, and analyze large data sets

Drafting & Legal Support

  • Prepare first drafts of motions, pleadings, and supporting materials for attorney review
  • Assist with deposition preparation, witness coordination, and exhibit management
  • Conduct legal and factual research as needed

Process & Technology

  • Identify inefficiencies in existing workflows and recommend process improvements
  • Leverage legal technology (e.g., Relativity, Everlaw, iManage, or similar platforms) to streamline litigation operations
  • Support implementation and optimization of case management and document management systems

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Proven experience handling subpoenas, discovery, legal holds, and motion drafting
  • Strong understanding of civil procedure and litigation workflows
  • Experience with eDiscovery tools and document management systems
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior in-house legal department experience
  • Experience building or refining legal processes, workflows, or playbooks
  • Exposure to cross-functional collaboration with IT, compliance, or business teams
  • Comfort working with large datasets and technology-driven environments
