Quality Engineer

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support our manufacturing operations and serve as a key liaison between production and our customers. This role is responsible for managing customer quality requirements, driving corrective action processes, and maintaining documentation standards in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Essential duties & responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customer quality concerns, complaints, and returns
  • Manage customer change requests and coordinate responses across departments
  • Develop and maintain control plans and process documentation
  • Create, update, and revise PFMEAs
  • Troubleshoot and analyze internal process failures and nonconformances
  • Support product testing and validation activities
  • Author and process corrective action reports (CARs) and quality miscue documentation
  • Document and analyze in-process failures, rejections, and MRB dispositions
  • Collect, analyze, and report on production and test system data
  • Conduct random in-process inspections
  • Develop forms, templates, work instructions, and test procedures
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline

Skills & knowledge

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP or similar)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.) and blueprint reading
  • Working knowledge of SPC and statistical quality methods
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
  • High attention to detail and personal integrity

Work environment

  • Primarily office-based with occasional time on the production floor
  • Occasional travel to customer or supplier sites
