Quality Engineer
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support our manufacturing operations and serve as a key liaison between production and our customers. This role is responsible for managing customer quality requirements, driving corrective action processes, and maintaining documentation standards in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Essential duties & responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customer quality concerns, complaints, and returns
- Manage customer change requests and coordinate responses across departments
- Develop and maintain control plans and process documentation
- Create, update, and revise PFMEAs
- Troubleshoot and analyze internal process failures and nonconformances
- Support product testing and validation activities
- Author and process corrective action reports (CARs) and quality miscue documentation
- Document and analyze in-process failures, rejections, and MRB dispositions
- Collect, analyze, and report on production and test system data
- Conduct random in-process inspections
- Develop forms, templates, work instructions, and test procedures
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
Skills & knowledge
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.) and blueprint reading
- Working knowledge of SPC and statistical quality methods
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
- High attention to detail and personal integrity
Work environment
- Primarily office-based with occasional time on the production floor
- Occasional travel to customer or supplier sites
