Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Laboratory Assistant to join our Analytical Services team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the quality and accuracy of analytical data used for process control, quality assurance, and product development. You will perform routine testing, maintain laboratory operations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment. This position requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine analytical testing following established protocols and work instructions.
Operate laboratory instrumentation and computer systems, including Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Chromatography Data System (CDS).
Prepare solutions, clean glassware, dispose of waste, and maintain overall lab cleanliness.
Conduct basic preventative maintenance and assist with troubleshooting laboratory equipment.
Review and accurately record analytical results; ensure timely and accurate data entry in LIMS.
Communicate findings, irregularities, and improvement opportunities to supervisors and team members.
Monitor inventory levels and alert leads when supplies are low.
Support training initiatives for waste management and safe laboratory practices.
Participate in lab/site safety programs and adhere to hazardous waste handling regulations.
Assist with continuous improvement projects to optimize laboratory workflows.
Skills & Competencies
Strong attention to detail with the ability to compare results against specifications.
Proficient in identifying and resolving basic instrument and process issues.
Effective multitasking and prioritization skills in a high-throughput environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
High school diploma and at least 1 year of laboratory experience required.
Preferred: 3+ years of laboratory experience, with knowledge of HPLC and GC operations.
