Beacon Hill is hiring a Grants Manager for a growing non-profit in Chicago! This is a contract-to-hire role starting immediately. The Grants Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the grants process, including identifying funding opportunities, preparing and submitting grant proposals, tracking grant deliverables and compliance, and reporting to funders. This role plays a key part in ensuring the organization secures and maintains financial support from foundations, government agencies, and other grant-making institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify new grant opportunities aligned with the organization's mission and programs.
  • Write compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents.
  • Maintain a grant calendar to track submission deadlines, reporting requirements, and renewal opportunities.
  • Coordinate with program staff, finance, and leadership to gather necessary information for applications and reports.
  • Manage grant budgets and ensure compliance with all grant terms and conditions.
  • Prepare timely and accurate reports for funders and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective funders.
  • Monitor grant-funded project outcomes and collaborate with program teams to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of all grant activity in the organization's database or tracking system.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, public administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in grant writing and management.
  • Strong writing, editing, and project management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Familiarity with grant reporting and compliance processes.
  • Experience with grants databases or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Foundation Directory Online) is a plus.
