Our client, a non-profit located in Boston, is seeking a Haitian Creole Interpreter to join their team on a 6-month contract. This onsite role has hours from 8AM-5PM and is compensating up to $28 an hour, depending on experience. Qualified and interested candidates are encouraged to apply today for immediate consideration!
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate, culturally appropriate interpretation between Haitian Creole and English
- Interpret in client meetings, medical appointments, social services, and outreach events
- Translate written documents when needed
- Maintain confidentiality and follow professional interpreting protocols
- Support team efforts to create an inclusive and accessible environment for all
Qualifications:
- Fluency in both Haitian Creole and English (spoken and written)
- Formal interpreter training or certification preferred
- Experience in human services, healthcare, or nonprofit settings strongly preferred
- Understanding of confidentiality and interpreter ethics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain neutral, respectful, and professional in all interactions
