We're hiring! We are excited to partner with a reputable consulting firm in Chicago in hiring a contract Talent Manager to start immediately for a 6 month engagement.

The Talent Manager will be responsible for overseeing the allocation of consultants to client projects, managing internal resource planning, and partnering with recruiting to ensure we maintain a strong pipeline of talent. This role is both strategic and hands-on, requiring strong interpersonal skills, analytical thinking, and a deep understanding of consulting project demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end staffing process, aligning consultant skills and availability with client project needs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, team leads, and client service directors to understand staffing demands.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of consultant skills, certifications, availability, and project history.
  • Partner with the recruiting team to proactively identify and fill staffing gaps based on forecasted needs.
  • Monitor utilization rates and identify opportunities to optimize bench management.
  • Facilitate regular staffing meetings to align on priorities and resource allocations.
  • Assist with onboarding and resource planning for new hires and contractors.
  • Provide insight and reporting on capacity planning, utilization, and workforce trends.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in staffing/resource management, preferably in a consulting or professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of consulting project lifecycles and client delivery models.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with resource management or project tracking tools (e.g., Mavenlink, MS Project, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
