Referral Coordinator
Location: Pineville, NC
Pay: $18-20/hour | Contract-to-Hire

We're seeking a Referral Coordinator to support surgery scheduling and patient referrals. This role involves scheduling procedures across multiple physicians and facilities, verifying patient information and insurance coverage, preparing paperwork, and providing pre- and post-operative instructions. Strong communication, attention to detail, and prior surgery scheduling/referral coordination experience required. NextGen experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with hospitals and outpatient surgery centers to schedule procedures across multiple physicians and locations.

• Collect, verify, and update patient information including demographics, medical history, insurance details, and pre-operative testing requirements.

• Identify and flag out-of-network insurance coverage; ensure patients sign Advanced Beneficiary Notices (ABN) for non-covered procedures.

• Provide patients with pre-operative instructions, post-operative guidelines, and follow-up appointment details.

• Inform patients of deductible or co-insurance payments and arrange for payment prior to surgery.

• Input and maintain accurate patient data in electronic medical records and surgical scheduling logs.

• Prepare and organize all necessary paperwork for surgeries.

• Support the Site Manager with tasks such as answering phones, assisting at the front desk, and other assigned duties.

• Demonstrate exceptional customer service in all patient, client, and staff interactions.

• Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies and guidelines.
