This is a fully onsite Administrative Assistant for Compliance opportunity with a mission-driven nonprofit organization in Jamaica Plain, MA. The role supports a property management compliance team through administrative coordination, documentation review, and program support. The position pays $24 per hour, runs approximately 4 months with potential extension, and follows an 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM schedule, with a virtual interview process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to compliance, occupancy, and recertification teams

  • Review, compile, and maintain leasing and compliance documentation

  • Process move-ins, move-outs, transfers, lease renewals, and recertifications

  • Coordinate inspections and communicate with property owners regarding compliance status

  • Ensure accurate data entry and recordkeeping in internal systems (e.g., SharePoint, property management software)

  • Support general office operations including mail, supplies, and reception functions

  • Assist with rent processing, file audits, and documentation tracking

  • Interact professionally with tenants, staff, and external partners while upholding tenant rights

Candidate Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred

  • At least 2 years of administrative experience or equivalent education

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office systems

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively on a team

  • Professionalism, strong ethics, and ability to work in emotionally complex environments

  • Experience in property management, database systems, or human services settings preferred

  • Commitment to serving vulnerable populations and supporting organizational mission
