Our client, a non-profit organization located in Harlem, seeks a temp to perm Program Manager to join their team! Working closely with senior leaders of the organization, the Program Manager plays a central role in designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that advance our mission. This position manages day‑to‑day program operations, supports cross‑departmental coordination, and ensures that our initiatives are executed with excellence, integrity, and impact. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, a strong project manager, and someone who thrives in values‑driven, fast‑moving environments. This is a hybrid role - current schedule is T, W, Th onsite, M and F remote (subject to change). The standard daily hours are 10am-6pm (flexibility for OT when there are events or if the team is travelling). This role starts ASAP with an estimated temp trial period of 3 months. The annual salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000 (commensurate with experience). Hourly pay rate while temping in-line.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Program Management & Implementation

  • Lead planning, execution, and evaluation of assigned programs and initiatives
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure high‑quality implementation
  • Coordinate logistics for events, workshops, convenings, and community engagement activities
  • Monitor program progress and adjust strategies as needed to meet goals

Partnerships & Community Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and collaborators
  • Represent the organization in meetings, coalitions, and public‑facing spaces
  • Support outreach efforts to ensure programs reach intended audiences
  • Facilitate communication and alignment across partners and internal teams

Data, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Track program metrics and outcomes to assess effectiveness
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and updates for internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to grant reporting and proposal development by providing program data and narratives

Cross‑Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with communications, operations, and development teams to support program visibility and sustainability
  • Coordinate with finance and operations to ensure program budgets, contracts, and compliance needs are met
  • Support organizational learning by sharing insights, challenges, and best practices.

Equity, Culture & Values Alignment

  • Ensure program design and implementation reflect the organization's social justice values
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration, accountability, and care
  • Engage in ongoing learning related to equity, anti‑racism, and movement‑aligned practices

The Ideal Candidate should have:

  • Familiarity with organization's programs and initiatives
  • Previous work experience with a non-profit or social justice organization
  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience in program management, community engagement, advocacy, or related work
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfort with digital tools and platforms (e.g., project management software, CRM systems)
  • Familiarity with program evaluation, data tracking, or impact measurement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with diverse communities and a demonstrated commitment to social justice
  • Experience with event planning or community organizing
  • Ability to build relationships, facilitate collaboration, and navigate complex stakeholder environments
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
