Our client, a large consulting firm in Arlington VA, is seeking a detail-oriented Research Analyst to join their Government Affairs team on a part-time contract basis. In this role, you'll track and analyze congressional activity, manage key government affairs resources, and support special projects that keep our clients and stakeholders informed about developments in Washington, DC.

Key Responsibilities
* Monitor and review congressional committee markups, floor activity, and other proceedings to collect and analyze information related to bills, amendments, nominations, and votes.
* Maintain accurate directory and calendar content to ensure timely updates for stakeholders.
* Prepare concise, comprehensive reports and summaries for internal and external use.
* Collaborate with colleagues on time-sensitive projects and new initiatives.
* Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
* 1-2+ years' experience in research, writing reports, and summarizing complex legislative or regulatory information.
* Strong understanding of congressional processes; prior experience on Capitol Hill preferred.
* Ability to work quickly, accurately, and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
* Excellent collaboration skills and willingness to support team members as needed.

Details
* Pays $21/hr
* Temporary for 6-12 months
* 40-hours per week with schedule dropping to 20-30-hours per week while congress is session.
* On-site in Arlington, VA
