Network Engineer
Fully On-site in Wyoming, MI
3 month contract to start (possible extension)
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, configuring, and troubleshooting wired and wireless networks.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Perform Cisco and Aruba wireless Controller software upgrades, troubleshooting and bug testing
* Perform pilot site deployments
* Provide datacenter changes for code upgrades, controller installation and POC work
* Support change control manager (Service Now) for various projects
* Provide technical expertise on secure networks technology areas
* Work with the engineering teams to successfully implement wireless network solutions
* Provide LAN routing, switching, wireless and security configuration and deployment in client environments
* Provide network engineering consulting services, including- assessment, design and implementation of data and wireless networking environments
* Assist clients through planning, design, and implementation of secure data communications networks
* Create technical deliverables including network assessments, capacity planning, detailed design documents, implementation plans, configurations, and change orders
* Lead technical discussions to understand business requirements and translate them into functional specifications
* Develop comprehensive graphical and text-based design documentation and effectively manage the implementation process from design to customer acceptance
* Support other team members with deployment or best practices
* Engage in continuous learning to stay abreast of new and emerging technologies
* Obtain vendor-related certifications, to enhance professional development and our corporate standing with our vendors
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
* 3+ years of relevant experience in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting wired and wireless networks as well as security solutions
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Ability to learn new technologies and have an ongoing desire to stay current with the latest technologies
* Ability to focus on results while working independently when given a broad direction and desired results
* Ability to adapt to changing goals based on customer demands and market conditions while working with development and sales teams
* Strong problem-solving skills: must be capable of accurately assessing needs, maintaining a calm business demeanor, and taking quick action to resolve issues
