Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of payroll processing for our dynamic financial services firm. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with federal and state regulations, and effective collaboration with HR and finance departments. This role plays a critical part in maintaining employee satisfaction and operational efficiency through precise and compliant payroll practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end payroll operations for all employees, including bi-weekly and monthly cycles.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

Supervise payroll staff and provide leadership and training as needed.

Review and validate all payroll entries including salaries, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.

Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate employee records, benefit deductions, and tax filings.

Oversee year-end processes, including the preparation of W-2s, 1099s, and other tax filings.

Maintain and update payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, or other platforms) and recommend improvements or upgrades.

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters with professionalism and confidentiality.

Prepare and analyze payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure timely and accurate reporting to government agencies and financial institutions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.

5+ years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Experience within the financial services industry is preferred.

Strong knowledge of payroll systems, labor laws, tax regulations, and accounting principles.

Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paychex) and Microsoft Excel.

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.

High attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
