A multibillion dollar company is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join their accounting function with a primary focus on supporting the financial needs of our field operations. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions related to field activities, assisting in the month-end close, and maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and record journal entries related to field operations, including labor, materials, equipment, and other project-related costs.

  • Reconcile field-related general ledger accounts on a regular basis and investigate any variances or discrepancies.

  • Support month-end close activities for field operations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

  • Assist with the tracking and processing of field expenses, vendor invoices, and purchase orders.

  • Work closely with field personnel and operations managers to gather financial data and ensure compliance with internal controls.

  • Monitor and reconcile job cost reports, ensuring alignment with project budgets and accounting records.

  • Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports and audits related to field activities.

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline field accounting procedures and enhance accuracy.

  • Support ad hoc requests and special projects as needed by finance or operational leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 1+ years of public (preferred) or corporate accounting experience.

  • Understanding of GAAP and standard accounting procedures.

  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including field staff.
