Job Summary:
A global manufacturing company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Collections Supervisor to lead our collections team and ensure the timely and effective recovery of outstanding accounts receivable. This role will be instrumental in overseeing day-to-day collection activities, managing customer relationships, and implementing strategies to improve cash flow and reduce delinquency. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, along with a solid understanding of credit and collections best practices within a global environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of collections specialists
Manage daily operations of the collections function, ensuring timely follow-up on past due accounts
Review and analyze aging reports to identify and address collection trends and high-risk accounts
Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding)
Collaborate with internal departments including Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to resolve disputes and ensure alignment on collection strategies
Maintain strong relationships with customers to facilitate payment and resolve billing issues
Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations
Prepare and present regular reporting on collection performance to senior leadership
Assist in the evaluation and setting of credit limits and payment terms as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
3+ years of experience in collections or accounts receivable, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role
Experience in a manufacturing or global corporate environment strongly preferred
Strong understanding of collections procedures, credit policies, and relevant laws/regulations
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
