Accounting Manager

A private equity-backed financial services company is seeking a new Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting operations and support financial reporting for a growing financial services company. This role will focus on loan-related accounting and investor reporting, with responsibility for managing a small team and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations

  • Oversee investor and regulatory reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Support month-end close, financial reporting, and annual audits

  • Strengthen and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures

  • Monitor portfolio-level balance sheet risks and loan sales activity

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, compliance, and other departments

  • Mentor and develop accounting staff

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within the financial services or banking spaces

  • Public accounting or audit background strongly preferred (internal controls focus)

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
