Role Overview:
A manufacturing company is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This individual will play a key role in supporting the company's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and strengthening internal controls. The ideal candidate has a strong technical accounting foundation, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger management and month-end close activities.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and proper controls.
Perform fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals, while maintaining detailed records.
Assist with account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis to support timely and accurate financial statements.
Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and addressing inquiries.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and maintain compliance with accounting policies.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of accounting procedures, internal controls, and financial reporting systems.
Assist in special projects such as system upgrades, process improvement initiatives, and integration of new business units.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with exposure to both general accounting and transactional processes.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control best practices.
Experience with fixed asset accounting and reconciliations.
Proficiency with ERP/accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
