Position Summary
A multi billion-dollar healthcare company is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their corporate accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting global general ledger accounting activities, assisting with accounts payable, and preparing accurate and timely financial statements. This role will work cross‑functionally to ensure compliance with accounting standards and contribute ideas to improve processes, controls, and efficiency as the organization continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Month-End Close
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts for domestic and international entities
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and intercompany transactions
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
Accounts Payable Support
- Assist with accounts payable processing, including invoice review, coding, and approvals
- Ensure expenses are recorded accurately and in accordance with company policies
- Support vendor setup, payment processing, and resolution of vendor inquiries
Financial Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements
- Support internal reporting requirements and ad hoc financial analyses
- Assist with audit support by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries
Process Improvement & Controls
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, documentation, and internal controls
- Contribute ideas to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the accounting function
- Assist with system enhancements, automation initiatives, and implementation of best practices
Compliance & Collaboration
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and other teams to support business initiatives
- Support special projects as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1+ years of accounting experience (public accounting or industry experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial statements
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred
- Experience supporting multi‑entity or international accounting environments
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- CPA or CPA‑eligible a plus
- Experience participating in process improvement or system implementation projects
