Overview
A publicly held, multi billion-dollar company is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their Corporate Development function and support the evaluation and execution of strategic growth initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments. This role will play a critical part in analyzing potential M&A opportunities through advanced financial modeling, valuation analysis, and market research, while partnering closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.
This is a high‑visibility role ideal for a candidate with strong analytical rigor, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deal‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain complex financial models to evaluate potential M&A transactions, including DCF, LBO, accretion/dilution, merger, and scenario analyses
- Perform detailed valuation analyses using multiple methodologies (public comparables, precedent transactions, intrinsic valuation)
- Conduct market, industry, and competitive research to assess strategic fit, growth potential, and risks associated with acquisition targets
- Support all phases of the M&A lifecycle, including initial screening, due diligence, deal structuring, and post‑transaction analysis
- Partner with internal teams such as Finance, Accounting, Legal, Tax, Operations, and Strategy to evaluate deal implications and execution considerations
- Prepare investment memoranda, executive presentations, and board‑level materials summarizing financial findings and strategic recommendations
- Analyze historical and projected financial performance of target companies, identifying key value drivers, synergies, and integration considerations
- Assist in due diligence efforts, including reviewing financial statements, quality of earnings analyses, and operational metrics
- Monitor M&A trends, valuation benchmarks, and macroeconomic factors impacting deal activity
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, or strategic finance
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and valuation; ability to build models from scratch
- Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and transaction structures
- Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial concepts to senior leadership
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with Capital IQ, PitchBook, Bloomberg, or similar tools preferred
Why This Role
- High‑impact role with direct exposure to executive leadership and strategic decision‑making
- Opportunity to work on large‑scale, complex transactions within a well‑capitalized organization
- Broad visibility across the business with meaningful influence on the company's growth strategy
- Competitive compensation, strong benefits, and long‑term career advancement opportunities
