Private Equity backed company going through substantial growth and acqusitions is looking to bring on a Controller to help lead the accounting function:
Position Summary:
We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Controller to oversee all financial and accounting functions for our growing business. As the Controller, you will be responsible for leading the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, managing budgets and forecasts, and improving financial processes to support strategic growth. The ideal candidate brings both strong accounting expertise and industry experience in transportation, logistics, or repair services.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the accounting department, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger functions.
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across all business units and service locations.
Develop and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure financial integrity and operational efficiency.
Oversee cash flow management, working capital analysis, and banking relationships.
Coordinate the annual audit process with external auditors.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including fuel taxes and fleet-related filings.
Partner with operations leadership to analyze profitability by service line, region, and customer.
Support strategic initiatives, including M&A diligence, ERP implementations, and process automation.
Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
7-10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience
ERP implementation experience is a major plus
