Job Title: Property Accountant
Location: Washington, DC
Overview:
The Property Accountant will be responsible for supporting the accounting and financial reporting functions for a portfolio of real estate properties. This role ensures accurate financial records, timely reporting, and collaboration with internal teams to support property operations. This position is fully onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain monthly financial statements for assigned properties.
Record journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and support month-end and year-end close processes.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for property operations.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities related to property expenses and tenant billings.
- Perform and review Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with lease terms.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Prior experience in property accounting or real estate accounting.
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
