Accountant - Washington, DC

Beacon Hill has partnered with a local client in Washington, DC in their search for an Accountant to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented and reliable accounting professional to support day-to-day financial operations, assist with financial reporting, and contribute to maintaining accurate financial records.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a regular basis

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation

• Support the month-end and year-end close processes

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed

• Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable financial regulations

• Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor requests

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency with accounting software

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
