Audit Specialist - Bethesda, MD

Beacon Hill Finanical has partnered with a client in Bethesda, MD looking for a Audit Specialist to join their team. This position is responsible for evaluating and strengthening internal controls, identifying process improvements, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements to support accurate financial reporting and risk mitigation. As well as experience with Deltek Costpoint being highly preferred. This position offers a hybrid work environment requiring 2-3 days in office. Key Responsibilities

• Perform audits of financial records and operational processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
• Evaluate internal controls and identify areas for improvement to reduce risk and enhance efficiency
• Prepare clear and detailed audit workpapers and reports summarizing findings and recommendations
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather documentation and clarify audit issues during fieldwork
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure timely resolution of findings
• Assist with external audits by providing requested schedules, documentation, and explanations to auditors
