**Hybrid 3 days in office**

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise Billing Operations: Oversee and coordinate the entire billing department to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient processing of invoices, accruals, and collections.
  • Manage 2 direct reports
  • Manage the Billing Lifecycle: Direct the full billing process-from invoice preparation and review to submission and reconciliation-ensuring compliance with client guidelines and firm policies.
  • Optimize E-Billing Processes: Lead the management of the e-billing system, resolving disputes and updating billing guidelines to reflect industry standards.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with attorneys, legal assistants, and finance teams to ensure accurate time entry, billing adjustments, and overall seamless billing operations.
  • Monitor and Resolve Discrepancies: Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and errors while monitoring accounts receivable and following up on outstanding invoices.
  • Implement Process Improvements: Identify and drive process enhancements and system updates that increase billing efficiency and overall operational performance.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 6+ years of experience in legal billing, within a law firm environment, with demonstrated expertise in managing complex billing functions.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in legal billing software platforms such as Elite 3E, Aderant, BillBlast, or similar systems, and familiar with e-billing systems and financial reporting processes.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and high volumes of transactions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the proven ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys, staff, and clients.
  • Educational Background: A college degree is preferred (high school diploma required), with bonus consideration for candidates with experience in LEDES billing format, alternative fee arrangements, and familiarity with ABA billing codes.
  • Leadership Ability: Prior supervisory or management experience, with the ability to supervise, mentor, and develop team members while maintaining a high level of client service excellence.
