Job Title: Staff Accountant

Overview:
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Rosslyn, MD in their search for a Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This role supports core operational accounting functions with an emphasis on month-end close, balance sheet management, internal audit support, and accounts receivable. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. This role is fully onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments as part of the month-end close process, ensuring accurate cutoff and timely reporting.

• Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts, maintain supporting schedules, and research variances or discrepancies.

• Support internal audit activities, including audit testing, documentation, and maintaining GAAP-compliant, audit-ready records.

• Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, cash application, customer account reconciliations, and aging review.

• Assist in developing and documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs), identifying process improvements and strengthening internal controls.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience in operational accounting, including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and AR.

• Working knowledge of internal controls, audit support, and compliance standards.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet reporting deadlines and analyze variances.

• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset within a collaborative environment.

• Hotel or hospitality experience is a plus but not required.
