Beacon Hill Financial is working with a non-profit in Bethesda to bring an AP Specialist to their growing team. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team in Bethesda, Maryland. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining compliance with internal policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently.

  • Ensure proper approvals and documentation for all payments.

  • Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices (3-way matching).

  • Research and resolve discrepancies and issues related to vendor invoices or payments.

  • Maintain vendor files and ensure W-9s and tax documents are up to date.

  • Assist with weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.

  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and support month-end close.

  • Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding billing inquiries.

  • Assist with year-end 1099 preparation and audit support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor's preferred).

  • 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP).

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
