Beacon Hill Financial is working with a non-profit in Washington, D.C. that is searching for a Budget & Finance Officer. The Budget and Finance Officer is responsible for overseeing the development, execution, and reconciliation of multi-source federal budgets and financial reports. This role requires experience in both the non-profit and federal space. This role provides fiscal oversight, supports audit readiness, and ensures compliance with federal financial regulations and reporting standards. This role operates on a hybrid schedule with multiple days per week in their D.C. office. If your experience aligns with the key responsibilities, please do not hesitate to apply!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and reconcile complex budgets involving appropriations, reimbursements, transfers, and trust accounts; provide funding projections and financial planning support.

  • Analyze spending trends, monitor fund utilization, and advise program and financial managers on budget execution and availability.

  • Prepare and submit financial reports (e.g., SF-133, Trial Balance) to federal agencies such as OMB, DOT, and GSA, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Perform fund obligation tasks, including grants and vendor payments, payroll reviews, and inter-agency transfers, while maintaining accurate documentation and audit trails.

  • Conduct reconciliations between general ledger accounts, financial systems and budget reports to prevent ADA violations.

  • Support audit preparations and maintain detailed procedural documentation; apply advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) for financial analysis and reporting.
