Hybrid Senior Accountant - Downtown Cleveland | Join Our Prestigious Law Firm

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a passion for financial integrity and process improvement? Our established law firm located in downtown Cleveland is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in a hybrid capacity-with a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.

As a key member of our finance team, you'll take ownership of core accounting functions, ensuring accurate reporting and supporting strategic decision-making. Job Duties:

  • Lead month-end close processes including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow).

  • Manage fixed asset accounting and ensure accurate depreciation tracking.

  • Analyze account balances, including insurance, leases, and debt.

  • Maintain daily cash activity reports and general ledger accuracy.

  • Review trust (IOLTA) accounts and ensure compliance with firm policies and internal controls.

  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and tax-related reporting.

  • Support external audits through detailed schedule prep and documentation.

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and enhance reporting tools.

  • Collaborate closely with other departments to deliver financial insights and maintain best practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or auditing roles.

  • Strong knowledge of month-end close, general ledger, and financial statement preparation.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with Aderant or Sage is a plus.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a commitment to accuracy.

  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented, customer-focused mindset.
