Overview:
A new private equity real estate firm is seeking a skilled Property Accountant to join their team. This role is ideal for a finance professional with real estate experience who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting and is looking to make a long-term impact as the firm scales.

What You'll Do:
You'll take ownership of the financial reporting process for a portfolio of income-generating properties, ensuring accurate and timely reporting while also supporting strategic financial functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee monthly close for assigned properties, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
• Record and reconcile financial transactions including journal entries and adjustments
• Maintain tenant receivable records and monitor collections
• Reconcile cash accounts and oversee banking activity
• Manage property accounts payable, including vendor setup and invoice processing
• Maintain and update general ledger account schedules and accrual entries
• Produce monthly reporting packages with variance analysis
• Support preparation of financial data for investor distributions and lender reporting
• Assist with external audits and year-end reporting requirements
• Contribute to ad hoc financial analysis and internal projects as needed

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within real estate or property management
• Experience with accounting for senior living assets is a plus
• Yardi experience is strongly preferred
• A strong foundation in accounting principles and internal controls
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work autonomously and communicate financial data clearly
• Eagerness to take on new responsibilities in a growth-driven environment
