A non-profit organization in New York is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Grant Accountant to join their finance team. This role is responsible for managing the accounting, reporting, and compliance functions related to government grants and city contracts. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, proficiency with financial reporting systems and spreadsheets, and prior experience working with New York City portals. This role will require in-person work in their Manhattan office.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage accounting and financial reporting for government grants and city contracts.
Prepare, review, and submit financial reports through city portals in a timely and accurate manner.
Monitor grant budgets, track expenditures, and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
Reconcile grant activity and prepare supporting schedules for audits and reviews.
Partner with program managers to provide budget-to-actual reports and financial analysis.
Maintain organized documentation to support claims and reimbursements.
